Inspired by the creative freedom discovered during the making of Excavation, this became my first fully three-dimensional work—an exploration of form shaped entirely by my own imagination. The sculpture draws on the traditional concept of Santei-Kyūji(the “Three Sections and Nine Resemblances” theory), which describes both the proportional structure of a dragon’s body and the nine animal traits embodied within its form. By studying encyclopedias, temple carvings, and various historical references,I reconstructed these elements into a contemporary interpretation, weaving together myth, proportion, and personal vision into a single living presence.
